You will be joining the System Architecture and Solution Design (SASD) lab in Bell Labs, which is creating innovative AI and software systems research, high-impact prototype solutions, and advanced architectures and designs. The SASD team has a global footprint with members in the US, France, and Germany and collaborates closely with a diverse set of Bell Labs researchers across the globe.
As a Bell Labs Research Intern in the System Architecture and Solution Design (SASD) lab you are conducting innovative AI and Software systems research, build impactful solutions that address critical industry needs, and advance the state of the art of the field.
- You should have proven experience in conducting research, abilities to work hands-on to develop software, analyze computer systems, strong presentation and communication skills, courage to take initiative and to drive progress.
- Strong background in AI: Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, Gen AI.
- Systems experience: Distributed processing, storage solutions, edge systems, performance analysis, and workload orchestration
- Programming skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, Go, etc.) and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.), experience in Agentic AI and frameworks (AutoGen, LangChain, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to clearly communicate research findings and technical concepts in written and oral presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Self-motivation and initiative: Ability to work independently and take ownership of research tasks.
- Published research in reputable conferences and journals demonstrating scholarly contribution.
- Research and develop advanced AI systems & techniques to address complex practical problems.
- Analyze AI systems problems in communication, data processing, AI on cloud/edge systems.
- Design and prototype experimental systems that demonstrate and validate research innovations.
- Propose, investigate, and publish novel research in top-tier conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
