This is a unique opportunity to join the Math and Algorithms Group within Nokia Bell Labs’ AI Research Lab and contribute to pioneering research at the intersection of communications theory, optimization, machine learning, and the theory of computing. You will work closely with leading researchers to develop high-impact theoretical insights and translate them into practical solutions that address real-world challenges across Nokia’s technology portfolio. Your work will help advance both foundational research and applied innovation, influencing next-generation communication systems and intelligent network technologies. Through close collaboration with experts, you will play a meaningful role in shaping algorithms and models that drive future breakthroughs in communication and machine learning.
- Strong analytical skills

It is very useful to have a good background in
- Wireless communication theory
- Convex optimization and related topics
- High-level programming languages (Python and/or MATLAB)
- Modern machine learning methods
- Machine learning packages (Pytorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
- Published research in scientific conferences or journals
You will join our research team to contribute to high-quality foundational studies and support the translation of research insights into practical solutions used across diverse Nokia applications. Throughout the internship, you will engage in exploratory work, collaborate with experienced researchers, and participate in research exploring the opportunities and limitations of using learning techniques in communication applications.
As an intern, you will be expected to:
