What activities in our department? Starting from a high level description or set of requirements, we do:

  • Architecture design and feasibility

  • HW circuit design (digital/analog design): design circuit diagrams, do board layout, perform all kinds of thermal, signal integrity, high speed, … simulations

  • HW verification to confirm functionality over environmental conditions (e.g. voltage and temp range).

  • Technical follow up of HW qualification and certification according international standards

  • Industrialization and link to manufacturing

The Fixed Network Division is one of the key divisions in Nokia focusing on making Ultra Broadband Access possible for all users in the world based on recent Fiber technology. Within the research and development hardware team you help design the physical aspects of the product.

You have:

  • Engineering degree or a degree in Electronic (or final-year student)

  • Broad interest in HW design - Broad interest in the Telecom sector

  • Knowledge of qualifications standards (ANSI, ETSI, MII), ECAD design tools (Mentor Graphics/ Valor) and lab experience will be considered an asset

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced working environment

  • Creativity and high efficiency

  • “Out-of-the-box” thinking

  • Team-working skills, but also ability to work independently

  • Good reporting skills

  • Passion to work in an international environment across countries and cultures

  • Willingness to travel for regular short-term trips depending on project/customer

  • Fluency in English (oral and written)



As an engineer, you will join our HW board designs teams to:

  • Participate in the overall product development cycle from electrical product conception until start of mass production

  • Be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of system architects, SW engineers and other HW disciplines with daily interaction to third parties, procurement and industrialization teams

  • Help develop the hardware solutions for telecom operators around the world

  • Strengthen the Hardware Design team, showing a strong technical interest

  • Perform feasibility studies
