Architectural Leadership
- Define and evolve end-to-end architecture for Mobile Core and Network Management platforms enabling autonomous networks.
- Drive cloud-native, microservices-based designs ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
- Establish reference architectures and best practices for integration with OSS/BSS, orchestration, and AI/ML frameworks.
Innovation & Product Vision
- Shape the future of Nokia’s products by influencing technology strategy and product roadmaps.
- Lead technical strategy for zero-touch operations, closed-loop automation, and intent-based networking.
- Evaluate emerging technologies (5G SA, 6G, edge computing, network slicing) and incorporate them into Nokia’s innovation pipeline.
Hands-On Engineering & Prototyping
- Actively design, code, and build prototypes to validate concepts and accelerate innovation.
- Develop proof-of-concepts for next-generation network automation and management solutions.
- Mentor engineering teams on high-performance software development, API design, and cloud-native deployments.
Collaboration & Influence
- Work closely with product units, research teams, and standards bodies to align on innovation and interoperability.
- Represent Nokia in technical forums, open-source communities, and industry standards organizations.

We are looking for an experienced AI SW Architect who is a deep technical expert and hands-on architect with telecommunications, networking and network management software. This role will shape the future of Nokia’s technology strategy and deliver breakthrough innovations for next-generation networks.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years in telecom software engineering, with deep expertise in telecom and network management
- Proven track record as a technical architect for large-scale, distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, service mesh, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, virtualization, and AI/ML for network automation.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable designs.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Python, etc. and container orchestration.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Contributions to open-source projects or standards bodies (3GPP, ETSI, ONAP).
- Experience with autonomous network frameworks, intent-based orchestration, and closed-loop automation.
- Familiarity with security frameworks for telecom environments.
- Research, designs, plans, develops and / or evaluates new advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design.
- Work typically includes in-depth assessment of the customer's networked application needs, providing network modelling and simulation testing, consulting to further clarify needs, and engineering high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality.
- Designs, defines and implements integrated hardware / software systems requirements for customers and / or prepares studies and analyses existing systems.
- Determines system specifications, input / output processes and working parameters for hardware / software compatibility.
- Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system.
- Identifies, analyses and resolves programme support deficiencies.
- Develops and recommends corrective actions.
- Enriches professional expertise with profound knowledge of the market, competition and / or academic environment in the area of specialisation.
- Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems and thinks beyond existing solutions to create sustainable competitive advantage.
- Ensures alignment of taken decisions with the overall business strategy.
- Ensures the strategic alignment of professional direction for business-relevant organisational units.
- Is recognised as an external thought leader within a strategic function or organisational unit.
- Leads and coaches organisation to achieve business targets, often highly visible, high impact multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.
