Join Nokia Bell Labs' Math and Algorithms Group within the AI Research Lab and contribute to pioneering research in communications theory, optimization, machine learning, and the theory of computing. In this role, you'll conduct high-impact research and apply your findings to real-world challenges across Nokia's technologies. Focus areas may include improving LLM performance on enterprise databases, using ML to interpret complex network data, developing agentic methods for multi-database interaction, and managing dynamic data streams. This is an exceptional opportunity to advance both theoretical and applied research in AI and data science.
Demonstrated research experience with strong peer-reviewed publications.
Ability to write clean, high-quality, maintainable code in research team environments.
Experience working with large language models; familiarity with database systems is a strong plus.
You will join our research team to contribute to high-quality foundational studies and support the translation of research insights into practical solutions used across diverse Nokia applications. Throughout the internship, you will engage in exploratory work, collaborate with experienced researchers, and participate in hands-on development involving emerging AI technologies. These efforts will allow you to build skills, gain exposure to real-world challenges, and deepen your knowledge of advanced AI methods. Likely focus areas include:
Enhancing the performance and adaptability of off-the-shelf LLMs for enterprise-scale databases.
