We invite you to apply for the Senior Software Specialist position within our Nokia TAS (NTAS) team, where you will play a pivotal role in developing new features, maintaining existing software, troubleshooting defects, and integrating components for our next-generation application server that converges voice, video, and messaging services across 2G, 3G, 4G, and CDMA networks. Nokia TAS is a next generation application server, converging the best of breed voice, video and messaging services for the 2G, 3G, 4G, CDMA, WiFi and 5G users of the mobile, fixed and enterprise segments. The configuration, performance and fault management capabilities guarantee an optimized operation, from deployment to maintenance phase. With the open eco-system, the decomposed internal architecture and business logic, Nokia TAS is complements the Programmable Core and is DevOps ready. Nokia TAS is a cloud native containerized SW-only product, deployable on Nokia or 3rd party cloud infrastructure or baremetal.
You have:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification with at least 4-5 years of work experience.
- Software development, testing and engineering knowledge
- Proven telecommunications experience
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Strong programming skills in C and C++
- Good command of English
It would be nice if you also had:
- Familiarity with C and C++ coding language. Familiarity with TDD and Clean Code principles. Familiarity with automation tools/frameworks (e.g. Jenkins, Robot)
- Experience with private clouds (e.g. Vmware, OpenStack)
- Experience with container based deployment (e.g. Docker).Scripting experience (e.g. Shell, Python)
- Develop new functionalities and features
- Maintain and update existing software components
- Investigate and fix software defects
- Perform component-level testing
- Integrate software with other features and components
- Participate in software design discussions and code review meetings
- Solve complex engineering problems across various technology areas
- Coach and support team members in problem-solving and technical challenges
