Senior Payroll Specialist

As an HR Specialist at Nokia, your core mission is to provide specialized expertise in HR processes and programs that empower our employees and enhance organizational performance. Leveraging your analytical skills and deep industry knowledge, you will drive continuous process improvements and support strategic HR initiatives. Your efforts will help align HR functions with Nokia’s broader mission of connecting people and devices to create a more innovative and sustainable future.
More specifically, as a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our French workforce. Your main focus will be ensuring that payroll delivery is accurate, compliant with French labor law and tax regulations, and completed on time. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain high standards of payroll integrity, support audit processes, and contribute to the overall efficiency of HR operations.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Manage the payroll cycle for France, including data validation, processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on French payroll legislation, social security, statutory compliance and Time Management features.
  • Liaise with external payroll providers, auditors, and authorities to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls, documentation, and audit trails in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Collaborate with payroll providers, HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure payroll alignment with compensation policies, benefits, and accounting standards.
  • Ensure effective communication with Nokia France employees and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide payroll-related analysis and reporting to senior management and regulatory bodies as required
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with significant expertise in French payroll operations at a senior level.
  • In-depth knowledge of French employment law, taxation, and social security regulations.
  • Experience managing relationships with payroll vendors and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong understanding of payroll controls and audit practices.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems, HR tools, Excel.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential data in a secure and professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in French and English.
