As a Network Device Testing Engineer at Nokia, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the reliability and performance of our cutting-edge network devices. Your core mission will involve enhancing test coverage using advanced frameworks and troubleshooting issues across device, network, and cloud layers.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Enhance test coverage by developing and maintaining robust test frameworks using Python, PyTest, or Robot.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across device, network, and cloud environments to ensure seamless functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and cloud engineers, to identify and resolve defects.
- Create comprehensive defect reports detailing logs, traces, and reproducible steps for efficient issue resolution.
- Conduct tests on networking protocols and standards, focusing on Wi-Fi, GPON/XGSPON, and cloud-based management solutions.
- Utilize network debugging tools (Wireshark, iPerf) and automation scripting for effective testing and analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement by providing insights and recommendations for product and process enhancements.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and mentoring junior team members in testing methodologies.
Qualifications
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in network device testing and automation.
- Strong knowledge in networking protocols, including GPON/XGSPON and remote management protocols.
- Proficiency in automation scripting, preferably in Python.
- Hands-on experience testing routers, gateways, or access points with cloud-based management solutions.
- Experience with network debugging tools such as Wireshark and iPerf.
- Good analytical skills for identifying root causes across device, network, and cloud layers.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of automation in cloud API testing (REST, gRPC).
- Experience with soak/performance testing of Wi-Fi/router solutions.
- Understanding of E2E user experience testing involving mobile apps, routers, and cloud integration.
