The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with local, state, and national regulations. The role involves proactive risk identification, incident prevention, training, and continuous improvement of safety systems in a high-precision telecom equipment manufacturing factory.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Ensure adherence to Indian HSE laws (Factories Act, EHS notifications, TNPCB, CPCB, etc.) and liaise with statutory authorities.
- Develop and implement safety policies, conduct risk assessments (HIRA, JSA), and lead incident investigations with corrective actions.
- Monitor usage and upkeep of Personal Protective Equipment and conduct regular safety audits.
- Oversee waste management, emissions control, and recycling initiatives in line with ISO 14001 and sustainability standards.
- Apply understanding of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Environmental Guidelines for Sustainability (EGS) regulations.
- Conduct HSE induction, periodic training, and promote safety through toolbox talks and behavioral safety campaigns.
- Develop emergency response plans and coordinate drills for fire safety, chemical spills, and evacuations with local services.
- Maintain inspection records, incident logs, and submit regular compliance reports to management and authorities.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, complemented by a Master’s in Industrial Safety from a DISH-approved institute or a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI/CLI (as mandated by Indian statutory regulations) with 12 years of hands-on HSE experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Well-versed in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience in Indian labor laws and environmental regulations.
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, and implementation of effective control measures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and training capabilities.
- Proficient in MS Office, HSE reporting tools, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to perform under pressure and respond swiftly and effectively to incidents.
