Country Finance Accounting Manager
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities within the finance and accounting department. The individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Group policies. They will also handle tax-related matters, including GST, WHT, and corporate tax returns, and liaise with external tax agents for compliance. Additionally, they will manage audits, monitor key performance indicators, and lead a team of three finance professionals.
Beyond core finance functions, the role also involves ensuring compliance with accounting principles and procedures, including SOX and internal controls. The individual will be responsible for timely completion of internal and external reporting requirements, and will continuously monitor performance measures, proposing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Finally, the role includes participation in global projects impacting the Thailand entity, such as centralization and harmonization initiatives, as well as other ad-hoc projects.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Oversee and manage monthly, quarterly closing and year end closing, complying with IFRS and Group policies.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders on accounting related matters.
- Review GST, WHT, Corporate tax and other Tax returns and liaise with external Tax agent for compliance and timely submission.
- Timely completion of local audit and statutory filing.
- Handle past years tax audit/query (if any)
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and procedures (including SOX and internal controls), and IFRS/local GAAP accounting principles within the country.
- Ensure timely completion of internal and External reporting requirements.
- Continuously monitors performance measures, proposing and implementing process improvement to increase process consistency, quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Regularly review internal control and process and establish measure to ensure effective monitoring and enforcement of fraud prevention.
- Other ad-hoc projects.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- At least 5 years of working experience (preferable in MNC) at management level.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Thai
- Knowledge of IFRS, Thai Accounting Standards and Taxes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and knowledge in SAP
- Able to analyse Balance Sheet and financial statements, including coordinating with external auditing units.
- Experience with financial review and reporting process.
It would be nice if you also had:
- CPA or Chartered Accountant is a plus (CPD required).
- Strong interpersonal skills and good teamwork capabilities.
- A fast learner, proactive, well-organized, and result oriented.
