IP Networking Resident Engineer

Canada (Hybrid)

As an IP Networking Resident Engineer at Nokia, you will play a key role in all phases of network projects, from strategy and design to implementation, testing, and customer support. This position requires collaboration with customers and internal teams to deliver professional services, encompassing on-site and remote work.

The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison, ensuring operational quality and interpreting customer needs across various technical domains, including IP telephony and wireless networking. Apply now to join our team!

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Design and implement IP network architectures and services.
  • Plan and execute network migrations and implementations.
  • Configure network equipment and services, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Provide technical training and support to customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to optimize network operations.
  • Occasional on-call support for critical network events.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • Four years degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication or equivalent experience.
  • Nokia NRSII certification is required. Nokia products hands-on experience required
  • 7+ years relevant work experience with a telecom communications equipment vendor or service provider in Designing, Configuring, Monitoring and Troubleshooting IP networks.
  • 5+ years experience in IP routing protocols such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP.
  • 5+ years experience in Segment Routing (SR) and MPLS protocols using LDP or RSVP, and L2/L3 VPNs over MPLS/SR.
  • 5+ years experience in QoS implementation/testing.
  • 5+ years experience using testing tools like Spirent, IXIA, Iperf, and JDSU.
  • 5+ years hands on expertise troubleshooting, monitoring, and configuring the noted IP networking protocols. 3+ years of scripting (Python, C, Bash, Shell, XML.)

It would be nice if you had

  • Nokia SRA, Cisco CCIE and/or Juniper JNCIE or equivalent certification preferred.
