Manager, Business Development, Wireless Technologies Licensing

You will be joining our Wireless Technologies Licensing team which is engaging with companies benefiting from Nokia innovations in their wireless solutions across various industry verticals, including but not limited to mobile and consumer electronics devices, automotive and various other IoT solutions. Licensing utilizes Nokia’s strong essential patent portfolio related to cellular standards, but often also other patents covering further technology areas in Nokia’s R&D focus.

Concretely, our Wireless Technologies Licensing program is seeking a Manager to run business development and market intelligence activities related to our patent licensing business. The work will be project-based and related to go-to-market strategy and business development in context of all industry verticals in scope of the Wireless Technologies program. Additionally you will be supporting licensing activities with various business matters during all stages of the licensing process.



HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Your responsibilities will include industry or company research, preparation of go-to-market strategies, financial modelling of licensing opportunities, and project coordination. In addition, you will collaborate deeply with legal, portfolio and technical professionals to support licensing negotiations.

In your role you will e.g.

  • Conduct analyses on chosen industry verticals to understand e.g. the value chain, key companies, products and technologies

  • Provide quantitative analyses on licensing opportunities both on the level of product categories or individual companies

  • Support and coordinate selected Wireless Technologies program related strategic projects involving industry leading experts with multidisciplinary backgrounds

  • Conduct analyses of strategic options and prepare recommendations for decision-making by appropriate internal stakeholders

  • Prepare go-to-market strategies for new industry verticals or customer accounts

  • Work closely with technical and licensing teams as part of licensing negotiations



KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Your skills and experience

  • Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills: Proven experience in conducting strategic and business analyses, including quantitative and qualitative business modelling

  • Previous experience in business development or analysis, market intelligence or similar roles

  • Master's degree or higher in appropriate field, with excellent academic records

  • Some experience with working in a global, project based organization is considered as strength

  • Earlier experience related to IP licensing is considered as a plus
