We are seeking a highly skilled 5G Core Expert to join our dynamic team, driving the design, optimization, and support of cutting-edge Nokia 5G core networks. This role focuses on delivering exceptional network performance, resolving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance Nokia’s 5G solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in 5G Core architecture, protocols, and KPI optimization, with a customer-facing mindset and hands-on experience in network troubleshooting and capacity planning.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Optimize 5G Core KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and perform E2E trace analysis using tools (e.g., Wireshark, RADCOM, NETSCOUT, Polystar, Traffica, Ribbon, etc.)
Conduct System and POD-level Health Checks.
Deep understanding of 5GC architecture, interfaces, and call flows (Registration & Authentication, Session & Mobility Management, Policy & Charging Control, Roaming & Interworking, High Availability, and Redundancy).
Analysis of 5G Core protocols (NAS, NGAP, SCTP, GTP, HTTP/2, PFCP, Diameter, Paging). Knowledge of HLD, LLD design, MOP Validations, and necessary modifications.
Conduct trace analysis using Wireshark (PCAPs) and analyze cause codes. Perform E2E tracing and call flow analysis, collect logs, PCMD, and analyze cause codes, reason headers, KPI trends, and come up with actionable insights.
Interface with customers to resolve network issues and complaints.
Assist in migration planning for live packet core networks.
Define and optimize 5 G Core (5GC) parameters, timers, and policies. Provide network design, planning, and verification support. Perform network capacity planning and dimensioning.
Support new feature testing and performance evaluations. Prepare and maintain technical documentation (network diagrams, configurations, procedures).
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You have:
Graduate or Postgraduate in the Engineering stream . Minimum 12+ years of domain experience
Extensive knowledge of Nokia 5G Core networks, including AMF, SMF, UPF, NSSF. Experience in the latest Nokia Products – NCP, SDL & Blueprint, and Custom Apps. Expertise in 3GPP Signalling procedures & call flows.
Experience in Nokia 5GC- network performance monitoring, KPI analysis, and optimization. Proficiency in network troubleshooting, tracing, and log analysis.
Experience with cloud computing platforms and virtualization technologies – VNFs & CNFs
Perform health checks at the System and POD levels.
Experience on probes and monitoring tools for tracing & KPI improvement – Voice & Data
Experience in incident impact analysis and network optimization.
It would be nice if you also had:
Ability to work in shifts to support global customer projects. Good collaboration, communication, and presentation skills. Proficient in English, MS Office & Power BI.
Skilled in any of Kubernetes, Docker, AWS services, Scripting, and/or Python programming.
