Jr. Software Developer

Canada (Hybrid)

We are seeking a highly motivated Jr. Software Development Engineer to join the NSP GUI Team, delivering class-leading graphical user interfaces that are high-quality, easy to integrate, and fun to use.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Drive the creation of reusable (React) components, modules, maps, and application scaffolding based on business needs, best-in-breed technologies and NSP UX guidelines. Integrate, deliver, test, and maintain front-ends to product groups based on their needs and priorities.
  • Work with a knowledgeable community to advocate best practices, ensure desired patterns are followed, and provide technical expertise for all groups involved in front-end web development.
  • Own the quality of every delivery.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • Educational Background: Degree in Software, Computer, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; prior Nokia co-op experience preferred.
  • Web & Networking Expertise: Proficient in REST, Websockets, server-side events, and JMS protocols.
  • Cloud & Architecture Knowledge: Familiar with Kubernetes, microservices, and related tools; understanding of SAAS concepts and structures.
  • Front-End Development: Skilled in JavaScript for single-page applications; experienced with ReactJS, state management, lifecycle, and unit testing (Mocha, Jest).
  • Testing Proficiency: Strong in front-end testing strategies and tools; capable of driving web testing initiatives.
  • Operating Systems: Solid knowledge of Mac and Linux environments.
  • Work Ethic & Collaboration: Independent and team-oriented; resourceful, innovative, and adaptable in fast-paced environments.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Previous Nokia intern or co-op experience.
