QA Engineer
As a QA Engineer you will develop and execute test plans using real network elements and simulators, leveraging your expertise in DWDM, OTN, Ethernet, and IP. With strong skills in automation (Python, Java, SQL) and tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Jira, you'll drive efficiency and quality in an Agile environment. Your role will also involve fault analysis, manual and automated testing, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Use the Network Manager to create services and upload data from the deployed network.
- Develop detailed test plans for an optical network design tool that interacts with network elements and operations support systems.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the performance limitations of DWDM systems, transmission properties, and network impairments such as OSNR and PMD.
- Perform fault analysis to aid in the prioritization of test combinations, ensuring a minimal set of tests that provide optimal coverage.
- Focus on the implementation of automation scripts for all test cases using Python.
- Execute tests both manually and through automated scripts.
- Possess hands-on experience with optical network planning tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2–8 years of experience.
- Knowledge of programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience working with DWDM, CWDM, SONET, OTN, Ethernet, IP, and GMPLS.
- Knowledge of Software Tools like Jenkins, Ansible and MS Office.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Proficient in working with advanced optical components such as ROADM, OXC, EDFA, Raman amplifiers, and OEO.
- Contribute to high-performance network design and validation.
- Hands-on experience in testing both web-based and client-server applications, ensuring robust functionality and user experience across platforms.
