Optical Controls Firmware Engineer

Join the development team of Nokia’s next generation digital coherent optical transceiver modules and take on critical challenges in chip, module, and system designs to enable the next generation multi terabit optical fiber transmission systems for data center, metro, and long haul markets. Individual contributor engineering position responsible for designing control algorithms for highly-integrated optical devices and implementing optical validation tests for digital coherent optical modules in the world’s fastest next generation optical networking systems.

The Customer Services (CS) family focuses on providing comprehensive support to our customers across various areas, from technical assistance and account management to network design, deployment, integration, optimization, and maintenance. We strive to enhance customer satisfaction and generate revenue by ensuring seamless network operations and performance. Within CS, the NW Design & Optimization (NWD) subfamily specializes in planning and optimizing communication networks for our customers. This includes consulting on network performance, managing optimization efforts, and executing end-to-end design activities, from initial surveys to final as-built documentation, for deployment projects.

We’re seeking a world-class innovative leader to define the vision and roadmap for embedded, pluggable coherent, data center optics, including DSP ASICs, PICs, materials and next-generation transport systems. This individual will shape product strategies that deliver ultraefficient, highcapacity interconnects for AI infrastructure (including CPO, OBO, LPO,…), data center interconnect (DCI), metro, and longhaul networks. You will drive innovation across silicon photonics, Indium Phosphide, DSP, as well as vertically integrated solutions including on switching platforms — ensuring product lines remains at the technological forefront.

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Principal Optical Engineer to join our dynamic optical team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in running Optical Device Verification Tests (ODVT) and performing optical integration work for Nokia's next generation of high-speed linecards.
