Are you a highly organized and technically skilled individual with a passion for maintaining state-of-the-art laboratory environments? We're seeking an R&D Lab Specialist to join our team! In this role, you'll configure, design, install, and maintain cutting-edge R&D laboratory equipment and networks, supporting our delivery teams. You'll also procure and integrate new products and solutions, ensuring the lab's equipment is always available and meets the highest physical and environmental standards. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Member of a Lab Team (1 x R&D LAB Specialist, PC admin, Physical installer).
  • Manage the Murray Hill R&D Optical LAB Environment (Space, inventory, spares)
  • Interfaces with Building Mngt for Power/Cooling needs/issues.
  • Perform physical installations (racks, nodes, routers, switches, cables, fibers).
  • Order needed material for LAB basic needs and/or R&D activities being done in the lab
  • Manage/track Budget and spendings.
  • This is an R&D role. Interacts with members of the Community (directly, via tools and/or Tickets) to understand needs and drive required ~in scope activities.
  • Responsible for installing, maintaining and integrating ~Optical & IP lab equipment. Restore equipment in case of failures.
  • Handles Procurement, RMAs, Manages Annual budgets/spending, tracks Inventory and Assets via tools and spreadsheets.
  • Manages LAB space, power & cooling needs. Independently works within broad guidelines and uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues. Provides working leadership. May lead small projects.


KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • 3 years experience in a similar role
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with R&D lab environment planning and physical needs/work
