Solution Architect - Data Center Fabric & EDA SaaS Support

Portugal

Join Nokia’s innovative Data Center Fabric (DCF) team, where cutting-edge hardware and software—like SR Linux, IXR series switches, and the Event-Driven Automation (EDA) platform—come together to power fully automated, scalable data center networks.

As a Solution Architect, you'll be at the heart of designing, deploying, and supporting these solutions. You’ll work hands-on with Nokia’s technologies and third-party systems to validate deployments, troubleshoot issues, and ensure robust, scalable infrastructure. This role is perfect for engineers who thrive where high-level design meets real-world delivery and support.

You’ll collaborate closely with global teams, including customers, integration partners, architects, and R&D. You'll also help drive automation across the full network lifecycle—covering everything from configuration and policy enforcement to real-time monitoring and fault detection.

This is a chance to be part of a growing, SaaS-focused environment where automation, reliability, and innovation are at the core of everything we do.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Act as a technical lead for customer-facing DCF engagements, combining architecture knowledge with advanced technical troubleshooting.
  • Participate in high- and low-level design creation, reviews, and validation for customer deployments.
  • Provide guidance on Nokia's validated Data Center Fabric design best practices and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues in multi-vendor, multi-domain environments.
  • Reproduce customer issues in a lab setting, validate fixes, and manage escalations with R&D.
  • Support the full life-cycle of Data Center Fabric deployments — from integration, staging, and testing, through to post-deployment operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Product Line Management, Care, and Pre-sales to ensure successful solution adoption and satisfaction.
  • Maintain ongoing customer interaction to provide updates, guidance, and maintain alignment with SLAs.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience in IP networking, with a strong focus on data center fabric solutions and routing technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of L2/L3 protocols, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with Data Center design principles (leaf-spine, Clos fabrics, intent-based networking).
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with real-world deployment issues (system-level, underlay/overlay, multi-vendor).
  • Experience with automation and management platforms (YANG, REST, gNMI, Ansible, Python, API, YAML).
  • Experienced with public cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS and Azure
  • Working knowledge of cloud-native technologies: Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, VMware, Openstack, container networking.
  • Hands-on experience with Nokia SR Linux and SROS Nokia routers highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with lab environments and the ability to replicate customer scenarios for issue isolation.
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills, with experience supporting or consulting external clients.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as Nokia Data Center Fabric Professional, NRS I/II, Cisco CCIE/CCNP, or equivalent are assets.
