Senior MW Planning Engineer
As a Design & Planning Specialist at Nokia, you will play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing microwave networks that enhance customer communications. You’ll collaborate closely with the local MW planning team, participating in FRP meetings, HLD development, and customer interfacing throughout project implementation phases. Your insights will directly influence network performance and capacity planning using advanced tools like Pathloss. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Design and modify network components for customer communication, focusing on microwave planning.
- Conduct feasibility studies, capacity planning, and cost analysis to optimize network performance.
- Lead end-to-end design activities, including site surveys, HLD/LLD development, and as-built documentation.
- Collaborate in frequency allocation and interference analysis using Pathloss tools.
- Act as a primary customer interface for both pre and post-design support, ensuring satisfaction and project alignment.
- Mentor and guide junior planners, fostering skill development and integration into the planning team.
- Facilitate bi-weekly MW planning meetings, sharing knowledge and best practices across the MEA team.
- Oversee project implementation support and care activities post-acceptance to ensure smooth handover.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in MW planning of Nokia Microwave Solutions
- 5+ years of experience leading MW planning teams
- Expert knowledge of Nokia Microwave portfolio and planning tools (Spider, PL4, PL5)
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Strong presentation and leadership skills
It would be nice if you also had:
- Willingness to work at night and travel on short notice
- Proactive, self-driven attitude with a strong desire to learn
- Experience managing multiple tasks independently in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills
