As part of this transformation, we’re looking for a Module Advanced Development Signal Integrity Engineer to help shape the next generation of high-speed optoelectronic modules. In this role, you’ll be responsible for detailed signal integrity design, modeling, and testing of high-speed electrical interconnections. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—including PIC (Photonic Integrated Circuit), ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit), and TROSA (Transmit-Receive Optical Sub-Assembly) design teams—to bring innovative products to life.
Hands-on experience with RF design and simulation tools, along with proficiency in high-speed RF test equipment and methodologies, is essential. This position is part of the Optical Modules Group, preferably based in Allentown, PA; however, candidates based in Ottawa, Canada will also be considered.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand and define product requirements and plans
- Design advanced RF structures for high-speed optoelectronic modules, ensuring optimal performance and signal integrity
- Develop test vehicles for evaluating performances
- Partner with vendors and internal process teams to manage the fabrication and delivery of prototypes and production designs
- Perform high-speed signal measurements and conduct detailed data analysis to support design optimization and validation
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline; Ph.D. preferred
- 5+ years of experience with RF design and testing desired, expertise with optical transmitter and receiver modules for telecom desired.
- Proven industry experience, with a demonstrated track record of driving products from concept and design through prototyping and into volume manufacturing
- Proficiency with RF design and simulation tools such as HFSS and ADS is required
- Familiarity with high-speed RF test equipment and methods required, including VNA, TDR, electrical spectrum analyzer, electrical sampling oscilloscope, etc.
- In-depth technical understanding of optoelectronic components & ASICs is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to clearly convey complex ideas and results to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently drive tasks while thriving in collaborative, cross-functional team environments
- A positive, proactive attitude is essential
