Senior SBC Systems Engineer / Security Specialist

We are looking for a Senior SBC System Engineer / Security Specialist to join our R&D organization. The candidate(s) in this role will be required to work with Nokia R&D members (IMS products systems engineers / architects, product owners, software architects, developers and testers) as well as product line managers (PLMs) and customer support teams to define, design and deliver SBC product capabilities for both telecom and enterprise markets.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• Definition of SBC product and/or IMS solution level requirements to respond to new market needs, with primary focus on Session Border Controller (signaling plane or media plane)
• Cooperation with Product Manager, Product Architect, Systems Engineers, Solution architects, CTO and Development Teams on defining product roadmap, feature / requirements definitions and backlog prioritization.
• Identification of product gaps and weaknesses toward standards & competition, addressing them into enhancements/ roadmap
• Supporting design, implementation, test, sales and maintenance of product with the relevant teams
• Documenting and presenting product capabilities internally and externally (documentation/ publications and presentations)
• Cross-sharing technology & product knowledge among various project team members
• Representing Nokia R&D internally and externally

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Minimum Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is minimum required. Candidate´s with degree in computer science and / or telecom will be more relevant. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 8-10 years of professional experience including system / solutions engineering in IMS domain.
  • Good knowledge of Session Border Controller product(s) (control plane and media plane), their functions, components, interfaces
  • In-depth knowledge of IMS architecture and SBC applicable use cases
  • In-depth knowledge in VoIP and VoLTE architecture, entities, use cases
  • 3GPP and IETF standards knowledge applicable to SBC signaling & media services and networking
  • Experience and strong knowledge related to SBC signaling and Media components: SIP, H.248, Lawful Interception, Diameter, H.248, MSRP(S), (S)RTP, (D)TLS, SIGTRAN, transcoding (audio, fax, video), security protocols

    Nice to have (desired competencies):
  • Previous experience in software design, software development and/or testing in an R&D or similar organization.
  • Understanding of cloud, cloud native principles, microservices, Linux and security architecture aspects
  • Good understanding of system performance, capacity, dimensioning overload control aspects
  • Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, trends and mitigations ranging across the technologies required to provide layered defense in telecom systems
  • Expertise in various system security controls and architecture design aspects of authentication, RBAC, data privacy and security, cryptography and encryption techniques, certificate and keys management, security protocols.
  • Experience in defining and/or implementing security solutions for telecom systems
  • Broad understanding of information security architecture principles
  • Experience working in either Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, OpenStack, VMware clouds
  • Security certificates like CISSP, CEH, CISM, CRISC would be a plus
