About the Communications and Marketing Team

The Communications and Marketing team engages with CDS audiences and shapes the CDS brand. From developing content in both official languages that highlight our products and services to providing compelling stories that explain how CDS, and the teams it works with, are pushing the Government of Canada’s move to digital.

The Canadian Digital Service is hiring two Localization Specialists!

This role is classified as an IT-03 in the Computer Systems Group (CS), bilingual imperative (CCC).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing multilingual components of digital products, such as websites, mobile apps, and software platforms
• Manage term bases and ensure the integrity of terminologies across multiple fields.
• Edit, revise and perform comparative reviews of bilingual texts to meet the highest quality standards.
• Lead project management efforts, engaging with developers, content designers and product managers to drive outreach and growth strategies.
• Utilize digital tools such as Phrase, GitHub, Figma, Trello, and others to streamline project management workflows.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional writing and editing skills in both official languages using inclusive language.
• Ability to perform comparative reviews of content in both official languages, and utilize localization techniques to adapt content.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating cross-cultural content.
• Proficiency in terminology management and maintaining translation memories.
• Proven track record in project management within digital government contexts.
• Familiarity with a range of platforms including Phrase GitHub, Figma, and Trello, or equivalents.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary agile delivery teams.
• Ability to contribute to research initiatives on a project.
