The role

We are looking for a Plant Maintenance Systems Administrator to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The incumbent would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.


The PM Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, support and enhancement of the business processes around the use of the SAP Plant Maintenance module, which is the NRC’s corporate computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Working in an organization with specialized facilities which include industrial, scientific and research equipment and systems, the incumbent ensures the integrity and consistency of master data, maintenance system procedures and reporting in the SAP Plant Maintenance module (SAP-PM).


Reporting to the Regional Site Operations Manager, the PM Systems Administrator is responsible for reviewing, verifying and correcting entered data, creating and updating equipment information, providing guidance to users, and identifying maintenance activities associated to buildings and facilities that require maintenance processes and life-cycle data.


In regards to the SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP-PM) module, the successful candidate will be the focal point for the design and development of the business principles, the organizational hierarchy and the building equipment records, and coordinating the preventative maintenance program across all major sites in the administrative region of Western Canada, but occasionally on all the other NRC sites in Canada.


In addition, as NRC’s SAP-PM subject matter expert, the successful candidate will ensure that the data, equipment and standards are consistently maintained and contributes to best practices using their SAP-PM expertise and provides guidance to the continuous enhancement of related processes and procedures.

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

College diploma in a mechanical program or a Red Seal trade certification in a field relevant to the position.

Experience

  • Significant* experience identifying and monitoring maintenance activities associated to industrial and/or research facilities.
  • Significant* experience in the implementation, support and maintenance of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in an industrial or research facility preferably SAP-PM.
  • Experience in the administration and delivery of training and mentoring sessions.

The following experience criterion would be considered an asset:

  • Experience using SAP Enterprise System’s controlling and procurement modules.

* Significant experience is defined as two (2) to six (6) years of experience.

Reliability Status

For a Reliability Status, verification of background information over a period of 5 years is required.

  • Solid knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP Plant Maintenance.
  • Solid knowledge of HVAC equipment and system installed in buildings, sites and/or in research facilities.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

Compensation

From $66,126 to $91,012 per annum.
