Overview:
The Director, Human Resources – DACH Region will serve as a trusted HR leader, responsible for shaping and executing Mitel’s people strategy across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This role combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, ensuring HR initiatives are aligned with business goals and that employees are supported to reach their full potential.
Working closely with senior leadership and employee representatives, you will help create an inclusive, high-performing culture rooted in trust, accountability, and growth. This position plays a key role in driving engagement, developing talent, and ensuring compliance in a complex and evolving environment.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with Mitel’s business priorities and regional goals across the DACH region.
Partner with senior leaders to support organizational design, workforce planning, and leadership development initiatives.
Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, ensuring people plans effectively support performance and growth objectives.
Employee Relations an Labor Law Advisory
Conduct negotiations with complex employee representative bodies (e.g., IG Metall Union, Works Council, Employer associations) at site, company, and group levels
Including preparation for and participation in collective bargaining negotiations.
Provide senior-level counsel on individual and collective labor law issues, and represent Mitel before authorities and courts when required
HR Operations & Compliance
Manage daily HR operations across Germany and Austria, including payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
Drive and contribute to the evolution and optimization of HR Service delivery model.
Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, works agreements, and internal HR policies.
Talent Management
Oversee all aspects of talent management including performance, compensation, and career development processes.
Drive initiatives that attract, retain, and develop top talent while fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Facilitate succession and capability planning to strengthen organizational resilience and readiness.
Partner with global HR Centers of Excellence to deliver efficient and consistent processes across the region.
Employee Engagement
Promote a culture of engagement, inclusion, and well-being, ensuring employees feel valued and supported.
Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters to ensure fair, transparent, and compliant outcomes.
Champion initiatives that strengthen employee connection and drive a positive workplace experience.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business and Labor Law preferred.
Minimum of 10 years’ progressive HR leadership experience within an international, matrixed organization, ideally in the technology or telecommunications industry.
Deep understanding and legal background of German labor law and co-determination; experience with Austrian and Swiss labor frameworks preferred.
Proven experience negotiating with works councils and trade unions (IG Metall experience a strong advantage) in complex environment.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic insight with operational delivery across multiple countries with “hands on mentality”.
Strong influencing, stakeholder management, and communication skills in global matrix organisation.
Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
Additional Preferred Skills:
Experience leading HR transformation or cultural change programs.
Strong business acumen with a people-first mindset.
Ability to foster collaboration and trust across global and cross-functional teams.
