Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer specializing in the laboratory validation of test chips. This role is ideal for an expert who thrives in hands-on lab environments, excels at developing and automating test procedures, and possesses strong programming and data analysis skills. The successful candidate must also have deep experience in either analog or digital circuit design, enabling effective collaboration with design teams and insightful analysis of test results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the validation of test chips in the laboratory, including planning, setup, execution, and documentation of experiments.
  • Develop, automate, and optimize test procedures using Python and other relevant scripting languages.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, source meters, and signal generators.
  • Analyze large datasets from lab measurements to assess chip performance, identify issues, and recommend design improvements.
  • Collaborate with design, product, and test engineering teams to interpret results and drive corrective actions.
  • Apply deep expertise in either analog or digital circuit design to support validation activities and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Create clear, detailed validation reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians in lab validation and data analysis best practices.
  • Stay current with advancements in lab automation, measurement techniques, and integrated circuit technologies.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in laboratory validation of integrated circuits, with a focus on both analog and digital domains.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python for test automation, data analysis, and reporting; experience with other scripting languages is a plus.
  • Strong hands-on experience in either analog or digital circuit design, with a solid understanding of the complementary domain.
  • Strong understanding of integrated analog and digital circuit design and operation.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and measurement techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with test chip bring-up and silicon debug.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of lab automation frameworks and hardware control via scripting.
  • Experience in semiconductor product development cycles.
