Job Description:
Position Summary
The Manager – IT Systems is responsible for leading and developing a Level‑2 (L2) IT Systems support organization across Microchip’s European offices, including extended support for Israel. This role ensures operational excellence of enterprise client systems, infrastructure services, and end‑user technology in alignment with global IS standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader with strong people‑management capabilities, deep knowledge of enterprise Windows/Linux ecosystems, and the ability to drive consistency, reliability, and service quality across multiple international locations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop an EU‑based L2 IT Systems team, ensuring strong performance and career growth.
- Set operational priorities aligned to global IT strategy, security requirements, and regional business needs.
- Oversee staffing, performance evaluations, workload distribution, and escalation handling.
- Coordinate cross‑functional work with global teams (Chandler, PTC, IDC, Israel, and Europe).
Operational Support & Execution
- Ensure stable, high‑quality L2 support for enterprise systems, end‑user computing, and onsite IT operations across regional offices.
- Oversee troubleshooting, problem management, service escalations, and root‑cause analysis.
- Maintain systems availability, standardization, patch compliance, and configuration consistency.
- Drive incident reduction through monitoring, analytics, automation, and process improvements.
Regional Ownership
- Own support operations for multiple Microchip EU sites, ensuring compliance with corporate IT policies.
- Coordinate with Israel-based teams for shared L2 and infrastructure support requirements.
- Serve as the point of contact for regional managers, facilities, and engineering teams.
Infrastructure & Systems Responsibilities
- Manage client computing stacks (Windows, Linux, endpoint management tools).
- Ensure proper lifecycle management of hardware, software, and configurations.
- Partner with central engineering teams to deploy global technology standards.
- Participate in planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, data center dependencies, and regional service improvements.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure strict alignment with corporate cybersecurity standards, E5 security tooling, privileged access policies, and ISO 27001 practices.
- Champion adherence to corporate procedures, security assessments, and audit remediation activities.
- Support secure access models, identity management, and endpoint protection alignment.
Project & Change Management
- Lead or support regional IT projects, including system rollouts, office expansions, technology refreshes, and process automation initiatives.
- Ensure high-quality communication, documentation, schedule adherence, and risk management for all assigned projects.
- Collaborate with global project managers for consistent execution across regions.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years experience in IT Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, or End‑User Computing roles.
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Windows desktop operating systems
- Endpoint management tools (SCCM/Intune or equivalent)
- 3+ years people‑management experience (team lead, supervisor, or manager).
- Experience managing IT support or operations across distributed sites.
- Proven capability to manage escalations and drive incident reduction.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in global teams across time zones.
- Identity, AD, GPO, authentication, and security controls.
- Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
- Linux (RHEL preferred).
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms.
- Exposure to ISO 27001, CMMC, GDPR, or enterprise audit/compliance frameworks.
- Background supporting engineering / development environments (e.g., CAD, Linux, virtualization).
