Microchip recherche actuellement un Ingénieur Vérification pour rejoindre notre unité d’affaires Communications à Montréal, QC, Canada.
L’unité d’affaires Communications de Microchip (CBU) est un fournisseur de premier plan de solutions de connectivité et de réseaux optiques 100 Gbps+ pour les télécommunications et les centres de données hyperscale. Nos dispositifs permettent des applications cloud à large bande passante telles que les services de streaming, les plateformes de médias sociaux et la visioconférence.
L’équipe de développement de produits CBU intervient tout au long du cycle de R&D des dispositifs, depuis la conception et la mise en œuvre jusqu’à la réalisation. Une fois le prototype disponible, nous soutenons le développement logiciel embarqué et les tests de validation en laboratoire jusqu’à la mise en production à grande échelle. Nous sommes une équipe expérimentée travaillant avec les outils et méthodologies de développement de semi-conducteurs les plus récents, utilisant des technologies de pointe pour développer des dispositifs réseau de dernière génération.
En tant qu’Ingénieur Vérification au sein de l’équipe de développement de produits CBU, vous serez responsable de la vérification des circuits intégrés numériques au niveau bloc ou au niveau supérieur d’un dispositif. Vous collaborerez avec les architectes de puces, les responsables de sous-systèmes et les membres de l’équipe de vérification pour livrer des conceptions de plus en plus complexes dans un environnement convivial, solidaire et professionnel.
Le rôle de l’Ingénieur Vérification inclut :
Travailler au sein d’une équipe pour vérifier les conceptions au niveau bloc, sous-système ou dispositif.
• Comprendre les fonctionnalités d’un dispositif afin d’assurer un fonctionnement sans erreur.
• Planifier et exécuter des tests sous la supervision d’autres membres de l’équipe.
• Développer des composants de vérification et des bancs de test en System Verilog (UVM).
De temps à autre, nous offrons aux Ingénieurs Vérification l’opportunité d’effectuer des tests de prototypes en environnement de laboratoire ainsi que du développement logiciel pour les dispositifs qu’ils viennent de vérifier. Cette expérience permet au vérificateur de comprendre la conception dans un environnement réel et d’acquérir une vision du fonctionnement au niveau système.

Microchip is currently looking for a Verification Engineer to join our Communications Business Unit in Montreal, QC, Canada.
Microchip’s Communications Business Unit (CBU) is a premier supplier for 100Gbps+ Optical Networking & Connectivity Solutions for Telecom & Hyperscale Data Center Networks. Our devices enable high-bandwidth, cloud-based applications such as streaming services, social media platforms and video conferencing.
The CBU Product Development team is engaged through the full device R&D cycle from concept, design and implementation stages. Once a prototype is available, we support embedded software development and system validation lab testing through to mass-market production release. We are an experienced chip team working with the latest semiconductor development tools and methodologies in advanced process technologies to develop state-of-the-art network devices.
As a Verification Engineer in the CBU Product Development team you will be responsible for verification of digital integrated circuits at the block level or top level of a device. You will collaborate with chip architects, subsystem leads and verification team members to deliver increasingly complex designs in a friendly, supportive and professional environment.
The role of the Verification Engineer includes:
- Work within a team to verify designs at the block, subsystem or device level.
- Understanding the features of a device to ensure error free functionality.
- Planning and execution of tests under the mentorship of other team members.
- Develop verification components and testbenches in System Verilog (UVM)
From time to time we offer the opportunity for Verification Engineers to perform prototype testing in a lab environment and software development for the devices they just verified. This experience helps the verifier to understand the design in a real world environment and give insight into system level operation
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en génie électrique ou en génie informatique
• Excellentes compétences analytiques et en débogage, ainsi que la capacité à résoudre les problèmes de manière proactive
• Capacité avérée à s’épanouir, apprendre et s’adapter à de nouvelles méthodologies et technologies
• Solides compétences en programmation
• Excellentes compétences en communication orale et écrite en anglais
Atouts supplémentaires pour le poste :
• Expérience avec un ou plusieurs des langages suivants : System Verilog, Verilog, VHDL, System C
• 1 à 2 stages coopératifs pertinents en conception ou vérification de matériel/FPGA
• Familiarité avec les protocoles de communication tels qu’Ethernet, OTN et autres (un atout)
• Expérience avec des outils de vérification tels que les simulateurs, émulateurs et outils formels (un atout)

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills and the ability to proactively solve issues
- Proven ability to thrive on, learn and adapt to new methodologies and technologies
- Strong coding skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Additional Assets to the role include:
- Experience using one or more of System Verilog/Verilog/VHDL/System C
- 1-2 related Co-op terms in hardware/FPGA design or verification
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet, OTN and others (an asset)
- Experience with verification tools such as simulators, emulators and formal tools (an asset)

The annual base salary range for this position is $76,000 - $114,000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
