Our Sales and Application team is seeking an individual with a few years of experience in embedded systems designs who will proactively support designs done by Microchip's clients in Scandinavia and the Baltics.
As a Field Application Engineer, you will utilize your engineering design skills, techniques, and knowledge to decrease client development time, reduce overall system cost and improve the performance of their end products.
You will also provide support for the assigned clients to accelerate their product development schedule. You will become a technical trusted advisor. This position will expose you to a wide variety of challenging applications. We encourage an out of the box design approach to help our clients maximize the overall value of their product by giving them the freedom to innovate. We are seeking for someone able to advise and implement innovative ideas and solutions to clients.
Main Functions
· Identify the key client stakeholders and coach those stakeholders to build consensus for Microchip’s solutions within their organization.
· Regularly develop hardware and software for customer designs.
· Help design proof of concepts, adapt existing reference designs.
· Train both external-, and internal stakeholders on technologies and products.
· Interact with Microchip’s various Business Units, provide market feedback to help developing new embedded solutions.
· Advise and assist clients with the complete design flow from idea to production.
· Willingness to travel to the USA and other countries in Europe to receive training or to support other regions as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Technical Skills
· BSc / BEng in electronic engineering or equivalent.
· Minimum 5 years of industry experience in embedded systems.
· Experience in different domains such as, but not limited to microcontrollers, microprocessors, connectivity, and real-time control.
· General knowledge of analog circuitry such as, but not limited to power management, timing solutions, and signal conditioning.
· Experience in embedded software (C, C++) including experience in low level SW (firmware/middleware).
· Experience with board-level debug & bring-up.
· Comfortable using hardware tools for debugging such as scopes and protocol analyzers.
· Accomplished presentation and training skills.
Organizational skills
· Self-starting learner – Proactively keeps up to date with new technologies and products.
· Ability to operate under minimal guidance and assume personal responsibility / accountability comfortably.
· Ability to independently set and effectively manage priorities with multiple customer opportunities and demanding needs.
· Documents work clearly, accurately, and fully.
· Creates innovative solutions to solve customers’ problems.
· Must have excellent written and verbal skills in Danish and English.
The position is opened at our Copenhagen office (Rest of Denmark and Malmö, Sweden is possible)
