Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Senior DSP Engineer to join our Timing Synchronization & Frequency Control firmware team, where you will play a key role in developing solutions that power next-generation communications and infrastructure. As part of our passionate and innovative team, you will collaborate with experts across disciplines to design, develop, and deliver products that set new industry standards for precision timing and clock generation. Your expertise in algorithms, signal processing, modeling, and phase-locked loop design will help shape the future of timing synchronization technology, driving advancements that impact global connectivity. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Development: Architect, model and develop algorithm components for network synchronization and MEMS based frequency control products
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (firmware, system, HW and MEMS development) to deliver exceptional, integrated synchronization solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; proactively sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Problem Solving: Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex synchronization and frequency stability problems
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for algorithm models, codebases, and development processes.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of development processes, tools, and team workflows.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical/Computer engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional DSP algorithms development
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink or similar related tools for DSP algorithm development
  • Strong theoretical background in digital signal processing algorithms and analysis
  • Hands on experience with C/C++, Python or TCL etc.
  • Strong problem solving (debugging) skills and comfortable with operating lab equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of PLLs, MEMS resonators
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile process and related tools such as JIRA, git, Confluence etc

We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position is 86,000 - 186,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
