Job Description:

The Senior Field Application Engineer with Wired Connectivity & ES (Embedded SW) expertise, will provide essential technical support to clients integrating Microchip ethernet products into client designs. The individual will use his expertise in network technology to enable the use of network products on client MPU and MCU platforms. Strong knowledge and experience in network and Embedded SW are the key attributes of this position for the success of design wins and implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance for embedded software environments like Linux, RTOS, and Bare Metal Coding.
  • Offer specialized field support for the complex integration of ethernet, especially SPE (Single Pair Ethernet as 10BASE-T1S) on client’s MPU/MCU platforms with diverse embedded software.
  • Leverage expertise in network technology to enable clients to use Microchip network products on their MPU and MCU platforms.
  • Develop, debug and integrate Linux drivers for various hardware interfaces
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to embedded software and MPU/MCU integration

Requirements/Qualifications:

Engineering Skill Set Required:

  • Hands-on experience with Ethernet communication protocols (Layer 2/3/4)
  • Proven experience in supporting embedded software in Linux, RTOS, and Bare Metal environments
  • Minimum 5 years of experience applying Ethernet products in customer applications
  • Strong experience in handling Ethernet PHY/MAC drivers and networking stack integration in Linux
  • Familiarity with automotive network protocols such as TSN, AVB, and SOME/IP is preferred
  • Experience with other MPU platforms (NXP i.MX, TI Sitara, Renesas RZ, etc.) is a plus, with preference for candidates with cross-ecosystem expertise

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering with a strong academic track record.
  • Minimum 5 years of end-product development experience.
  • Proficient English Communication is preferred.
