Job Description:

As an IT/DevOps Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working within our IT/DevOps team. This role provides an opportunity to build technical skills by supporting users, maintaining systems, and assisting with network, server, and DevOps-related tasks. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will work on a variety of projects and daily operations that help keep our IT infrastructure efficient and secure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining servers, Local Area Networks (LAN), and server equipment.
  • Support the installation, setup, and troubleshooting of desktops and laptops.
  • Help administer the local VOIP telephone systems.
  • Participate in software updates and installation processes for servers, storage devices, and end-user machines.
  • Assist in inventory management of IT equipment and tracking maintenance needs.
  • Support ongoing IT improvements and contribute to small enhancement projects.
  • Provide basic support for users, including troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues.
  • Gain exposure to managing Active Directory(OpenLdap) and both Windows and Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) systems.
  • Learn and assist with scripting tasks using Shell or PowerShell.
  • Follow IT security practices and assist in maintaining secure systems.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Some experience or knowledge in IT support, networking, or system administration is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals and computer hardware.

Skills and Competencies

  • Interest in IT infrastructure, DevOps, and network systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and operating systems administration.
  • Familiarity with Linux (Debian/Ubuntu) command-line is a plus.
  • Strong willingness to learn scripting languages (Shell, PowerShell).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Good command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward learning.
