Job Description:
About the Role:
Microchip is seeking a proactive and collaborative HR Business Partner to join our Canadian HR Team to provide Maternity Leave coverage. In this dynamic role, you will partner closely with business leaders and employees across Western Canada to deliver strategic HR solutions that drive business results and foster a positive workplace culture. You will play a key role in talent management, employee relations, performance development, and HR program delivery, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor to assigned business units, building strong relationships with leaders and employees to understand business needs and provide tailored HR support.
Deliver a full range of HR services, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and employee relations.
Partner with hiring managers to ensure timely recruitment and selection of top talent; manage the interview process and extend job offers.
Lead onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the organization.
Administer and support performance management processes, compensation reviews, benefits programs, and leave of absence requests.
Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on employee relations matters; conduct investigations as needed.
Track, analyze, and report on key HR metrics to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Support the implementation and optimization of HR systems, processes, and initiatives.
Coordinate with immigration counsel and international employees on work permit and immigration matters.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and best practices.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5-7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the high-tech sector.
Proven experience as a strategic business partner, supporting leaders and teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of performance management, compensation, and talent development practices.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
Strong analytical skills and experience with HR metrics and reporting.
Proficiency with HRIS and ATS platforms; experience with Workday is an asset.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to completion.

The annual base salary range for this position is $65,000- $100,000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
