Job Description:
Microchip has an opportunity for an Inventory Control Clerk at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. The Inventory Control Clerk position supports factory operations by receiving, stocking and delivering parts and supplies. This includes both the physical transportation of materials and maintaining electronic and hard copy records. The organization is responsible for maintaining an optimal inventory of parts, materials and supplies to support 24x7 operations.
The schedule for this position is Front-day compressed work week shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM).
Job Description
Train and operate in both shipping/receiving and an inventory warehouse.
Receive and stock parts and raw materials according to established procedures.
Pull required parts and raw materials from stock and deliver to internal customers according to established procedures including FIFO.
Find and follow outlined procedures located in specification data base and training guide.
Cycle count inventory of spare parts.
Inventory raw materials, e.g. gases and chemicals.
Update or modify spare part and raw materials information.
Process and review PIO’s (inventory purchase orders) for accuracy and need.
Accurately complete required computer entry and/or documentation to track inventory.
Operate lifting devices such as forklift and pallet jack.
Prepare product shipments.
Coordinate with Supply Management, expedite ‘down’ equipment parts, reorder low stock and repair parts shipments.
Accurately complete data entry/documentation to track inventory.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
High School or GED plus a minimum of 2 years work experience required.
Must be customer service oriented.
Must work well with others and independently.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with MS Office software.
Data entry experience
Valid driver's license (to transport material as needed to off-site warehouse)
Preferred Qualifications
Warehouse/Stores/Shipping/Receiving experience in a manufacturing setting.
Baan/ERP system experience.
Critical Physical Requirements
The physical requirements described below must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Unassisted, the employee must regularly lift/carry and/or push/pull/roll objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift/carry and/or push/pull/roll objects up to 65 pounds, occasionally lift/carry and/or push/pull/roll objects up to 75 pounds or team lift items 75-125 pounds
Assisted (pallet jack, fork truck), the employee must routinely lift and/or push/pull/roll objects that weigh in excess of 1,000 pounds
Must be able to work while sitting 40%; standing 30%; walking 30%
Ability to carry out repetitive motion tasks
Position requires climbing of ladders, stairs, and/or stools for top-level selection
Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations (typing, etc.)
Requires handling, bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, reaching
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature, humidity, and noise
