Job Description
Microchip Frequency & Time Systems (FTS) provides world-class timing solutions and sets the world's standard for time. FTS generates, distributes and applies precise time for telecom, wireless, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure and metrology industries. FTS's customers from telecom service providers and network equipment manufacturers to governments and their suppliers worldwide, are able to build more reliable networks and systems by using the company's advanced timing technologies, atomic clocks, services and solutions.
Microchip FTS located in Beverly, MA is considering candidates for a self-motivated, team focused, Process Engineer I to work with our team. This position will be primarily responsible for providing on-going technical support for our Clocks Products. The candidate will possess excellent hands-on, process engineering skills. The candidate must be able to multitask but also be able to focus to bring a project to a successful conclusion while also supporting other efforts.

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer I will:
- Work within the manufacturing team to maintain and generate drawings, procedures and travelers for new and existing products.
- Provide support to assembly personnel.
- Analyze production and quality problems with a goal to increase reliability and reduce cost.
- Implement best practices in process controls, production tracking and yield improvements.
- Maintain and Troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures and document and identify corrective actions
- Maintain processes and procedures in accordance with TL9000 standards
- Determine, create and analyze metrics to target cost improvements
- Ability to multitask while staying focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and willing to take on whatever tasks are required.
Essential Qualifications
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
- Minimum B.S. Degree in Manufacturing, Chemical or Process Engineering.

Desired Qualifications
- Electronic and mechanical trouble shooting experience in high vacuum technology preferred.
- Utilizes test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and/or vacuum pumps to test product.
- Applicant is expected to perform a wide range of duties including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electro-mechanical and electronic systems.
- MEMs experience highly desirable.
- Candidate should have good mechanical abilities to perform maintenance tasks as required.
- Ability to communicate and work from written and verbal instructions.
- Experience utilizing SPC or DOE
