Job Description:

The Systems Engineer/Architect will work with industry leading customers, industry standards and Design Engineers to define next generation chips for the various product lines. The chip definition includes the chip overview, functional definition, register definition, pinout definition, AC timing and DC parameters. The Systems Engineer needs to define everything required for a circuit design engineer to design the chip and also clearly define the system interface that is needed by our customer to use the chip The Systems Engineer is responsible for:
Secure Products Group (SPG) product line devices.
General product family planning (working with Marketing), specific product definition and creation of engineering specifications (working with Design Engineering.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Development of Engineering Specifications, Data Sheets and Application Notes.
Development of technical presentations and training materiel.
Interfaces with customers, marketing, and design engineering to resolve all system-level and device
level technical issues on new specifications, as well as to support existing products.
Requires 5+ years experience in hardware/system design
Good interpersonal and writing skills.
Knowledge of PC and PC architecture
Knowledge of Security (AES, RSA, ECC, DSA, SHA) is a plus

Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in New York, is $70,000 - $163,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
