We’re on the hunt for a Senior Electrical AIT Engineer at our Harwell office.
MDA Space’s international footprint in the UK creates opportunities to work with some of the most exciting space industrial players in the country. Delivering all three business area capabilities in Geointelligence, Robotics & Space Operations, and Satellite Systems, our UK team provides support to our European-based customers while specializing in the development of advanced space sensors for exploration missions as well as space-based communication technology. As our presence grows overseas, so does our need for new ambitious team players to help us advance our place in the Universe and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Co-ordinate all phases of AIT for a Payload
- Perform electrical integration of the unit under test (UUT) to test benches / test equipment.
- Prepare, implement and support EVT campaigns, including procedures and bespoke EGSE.
- Produce test plans / procedures from test specifications to ensure requirements are met and verified.
- Perform functional and performance testing.
- Create automated test scripts to control / test the UUT and the supporting electrical ground support equipment (EGSE).
- Produce technical reports after test execution.
- Adhere to Cleanroom procedures and protocols ensuring all policies are followed
- Be responsible for the maintenance and validation of EGSE
- Schedule and plan for AIT support for all activities
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Experience in the space industry, phased array antennas and on-board processing technology is also desirable.
Suitable candidates will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Maths or Physics. Master’s degree
- A proven knowledge of testing processes, cycles and approaches.
- Experience with Satellite AIT and flows
- Experience with working with and configuring Linux based systems including shell commanding.
- 5+ years of experience in communications system engineering.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers.
- Experience of providing inputs to proposals from ESA
