Job Description
McDonald’s Enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Global Data Governance. This role will support the Enterprise Data Governance Senior Manager by driving the development of McDonald’s enterprise-wide data governance, policies, standards, strategy, and processes. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the discovery, quality, trustworthiness, and compliance of McDonald’s data assets and driving the development, implementation, and promotion of data governance policies and standards. This role will partner with global technology and various business teams to support global functions and McDonald’s segments and markets (i.e. global insights, data science, market data teams, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures and standards in alignment with industry best practices and McDonald’s business objectives
- Establish and maintain data governance processes such as data accountability, metadata management, third-party data management, and data quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance roles and responsibilities and promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability
- Support the implementation of data governance tools and technologies to enable metadata management, data lineage, and data quality monitoring
- Conduct Data Governance assessments to evaluate data governance metrics and effectiveness, mitigate risks and identify improvement areas
- Ensure data governance processes are integrated into SDLC and project management methodologies
- Craft compelling storytelling on how capabilities fit together and support each other to drive the overall data governance vision and goals. This involves creating presentations, reports, and other communication materials
- Drives cultural change, ensuring data governance initiatives are understood and adopted by the organization
- Create and monitor program metrics and reporting to measure value enablement and share with leadership and key partners

The expected salary range for this role is $112,860 – 143,900 / per year

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience directly related to the development and maintenance of data governance/data management
- Strong understanding of data governance and management standard processes (e.g. metadata management, data quality, data accountability)
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, with a focus on building strong relationships and driving alignment on an enterprise-level
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong facilitation and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence partners and drive incremental change
- Experience with data governance and data quality management tools, such as Collibra, preferred
- Proven track record to lead multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within defined deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of GDPR and Personal Information Privacy Laws
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence as part of project workflow and documentation tools is a plus
- Experience with Agile project management methods and terminology a plus
