Job Description

The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to work on one of the most valuable and iconic brands in the world where you will be responsible for implementing promotional strategies to grow current and incremental McDonald’s business

  • To support Line Manager in the management and implementation of McDonald’s UK Marketing calendar to win share from our competitors, grow current and incremental McDonald’s business
  • To run the development of tactical marketing programmes that will deliver against the agreed annual marketing and business plans of McDonald’s
  • To run, and be responsible for, the implementation of all below-the-line elements of agreed marketing programmes, from brief to completion
  • To support in the delivery of above-the-line elements of agreed marketing programmes
  • To develop and lead strong internal relationships and systems for best-in-class communication and delivery of programmes

What will my accountabilities be?

  • To support in the development of clear and inspiring marketing briefs for external agencies to activate promotions and campaigns
  • To support in the development of critical time paths for timely delivery of all activity
  • To build, and gain approval of, robust business cases on all activities and subsequently proactively lead and input into the timely evaluation of all programmes
  • To support in the delivery of the production, implementation, and approval, of all ATL and BTL creative, corporate website and internal communication against agreed marketing programmes, including daily agency management
  • To demonstrate a sound commercial understanding of the business
  • To demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively, building validated working relationship both internally (e.g. Marketing, Communications, Legal, Finance, Business Strategy & Insight, Supply Chain, Food Development, QA, Customer Services and Operations) and externally with agencies and suppliers

What Team Will I be a part?
We are looking for an ambitious and forward thinking Assistant Brand Manager to join our dynamic team.

Marketing is pivotal to the growth of our business and the opportunity means working with one of the most respected and award winning marketing functions in the country. As the 3rd highest spender in the UK the marketing team, produce communications across all media channels, producing more high quality ads than any other business. It is an exciting time to be joining a brand experiencing rapid growth and opening up new digital sales channels. The Marketing function consists of less than 50 people, so early accountability is guaranteed, as is working with some of the best agencies in ad land.

  • Internal and external relationships including (but not restricted to) McDonald’s - Corporate & Field Marketing, Business Strategy & Intelligence, Communications, Food Development, Supply Chain, QA, Operations, Customer Services and Legal
  • Franchisees, and all restaurants
  • Advertising, Digital, Media and BTL agencies
  • Internal licensed partners

Qualifications

What background do I need to have?

  • CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing Management or ISP Diploma desirable
  • Relevant confirmed experience. Retail or FMCG brand desirable
  • Strong project management skills, analytical and financial competence, with a heavy focus on attention to detail
  • Confirmed communicator with ability to exert credible influence over project teams
  • Flexible approach and ability to use initiative
  • Good creative judgement
