Could you be our next Strategic Sourcing Manager?
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Sourcing Food ANZ, as the Strategic Sourcing Manager you will be developing and implementing strategic and tactical programs to manage an assigned group of supplier expectations and build supplier relationships. You will also play a key role in providing and communicating Supply Chain solutions to meet customers’ needs whilst maximising business outcomes. What can you expect on a day-to-day basis?

  • Working with the ANZ Purchasing Team to manage key categories with designated Food and Beverage portfolios for McDonald’s Restaurants
  • Keeping up to date with current category trends through research and benchmarking (e.g., commodity pricing, finished goods pricing, plant efficiency, supplier KPIs etc.)
  • Collaborating with Product Development and Quality Assurance teams to source best quality, least cost ingredients to support business growth.
  • Building and maintaining business relationships between McDonald’s and its suppliers
  • Negotiating with suppliers to achieve best value solutions for the McDonald’s System
  • Developing and implementing category plans in conjunction wit suppliers and the QA team under the pillars of assured supply, quality, value, food journey, innovation and people
  • Periodic local and global reporting on category metrics as well as forecasting and reporting into restaurant pricing
  • Ensuring continuous supplier improvement through KPI monitoring and management
  • Ensuring un-interrupted supply of promotional and new products to all restaurants
  • Ensuring effective contingency and capacity plans are in place
  • Reduce system cost through improved forecasting and supplier collaboration
  • Collaborating with our distributor internal teams to manage forecasting of permanent and promotional ingredients
  • Establishing and managing internal reporting and analysis of forecast accuracy and write off performance

Qualifications

Your keys to success:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a purchasing professional focussing on buying experience in food and beverage categories, non-food purchasing categories or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in Category/Supplier Management
  • Knowledgeable in commodity markets
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to easily develop cohesive partnerships between McDonald’s and our key suppliers as well as internal stakeholders
  • Confident communication skills and ability to assist stakeholders understand informant and technical information
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a high level of demonstrated initiative to achieve work outcomes
  • Able to ambitiously take the lead to manage categories and responsibilities to achieve success outcomes within the team as well as providing constructive feedback that adds value to supplier relationships.
  • Highly organised with demonstrated project management and time management skills; able to set deadlines and work to tight deadlines at a fast pace
  • Ethical and responsible, understands and adheres to McDonald’s Standards of Business Conduct
