Role Summary

Senior QA Leal Engineer will own and drive performance and scalability testing for a carrier-grade telco application stack. He plays a crucial role in our software development lifecycle with primary focus on performance and capacity testing, ensuring that our applications scale efficiently under various workloads. He will define the performance strategy, build realistic traffic models, automate test execution and translate telemetry into clear engineering actions. He will also work extensively in Kubernetes (K8s) environment, ensuring system reliability, optimization and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, execute comprehensive test plans, performance and capacity test plans, focusing on scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

Automate test cases to enhance efficiency and reduce manual testing efforts.

Identify, document and track software defects.

Set up performance test environments (rhel virtual machines, helm, kubernetes).

Work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure thorough testing coverage in (not only) Kubernetes-based environments.

Collaborate with internal teams to integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Monitor system performance using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar solutions.

Provide detailed reports on test execution, system capacity, bottlenecks, and overall product quality (metrics/logs/traces).

Provide data-driven input for release readiness and go/no-go decisions.

Job Requirements

5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with strong focus on performance testing of backend/distributed systems and with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is advantage.

Strong experience in product performance testing, Hands-on experience in capacity testing and system scalability assessments. At least Basic knowledge of tools used for performance monitoring.

Good knowledge of networking at least OSI Model.

Proficiency of operating system principles, at least basic knowledge of virtualization, containerization, Kubernetes (Openshift) and Helm.

Good Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Bash for automation testing.

Solid Linux and troubleshooting skills with focus on optimalization; confidence reading telemetry and correlating signals.

Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for monitoring performance metrics is highly beneficial.

Knowledge of protocols used in telecommunication networks and messaging architecture is high benefit (SIP, IMS, Diameter, SMSC/MMSC…).

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile development teams.

Strong independent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate work.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
