Role Summary

Role Summary:
The Technial Project Manager will work with our high profile French Customers and will report into the PMO Director. You will be responsible for the day-to-day project and service delivery management of assigned customers. We are specifically looking for someone who is self-driven with strong customer management skills at a senior level. This position will involve travel to customer sites.

You will have full accountability over the delivery of multiple customer engagements – including but not limited projects and service support. From time to time, you may also direct a portfolio of internal programmes and external projects that have multiple stakeholders whilst being commercially challenged. You will play an active part in the identification of new business opportunities and handling material customer and commercial issues.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of the allocated projects, which includes:
    • Management of the senior customer delivery team in relation to pre-sales and project activities
    • Responsibility for project organisation, including the identification and management of risks internally and with the end customer
    • Ensuring the third-party engagement is in-line with agreements from the bid phase
    • Hiring and managing resource requirements for the regional projects
    • Ensuring that projects progress according to the agreed contracts, reporting progress as appropriate, ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the agreed business KPI’s
    • Manage the regional project delivery in accordance with the business quality plan
    • Discussing and progressing issues under escalation, including technical issues with the customer management team
    • Co-ordinating technical support for the project within Operations and the R&D centres
    • Escalating and liaising with other departments for assistance where appropriate
    • Financial management of projects using industry standard
    • Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the current procedures and responsibility for the overall quality control for regional projects
  • Identifying, costing and processing any contract variations
  • Protect the commercial position of the company, influencing customers and third-parties as necessary
  • Responsible for resource and SME forward load planning through matrix management
  • Line management of junior project managers and engineers working on own projects, including completion of end of project reviews
  • Ensures projects are managed in accordance with the end customers delivery process, ensure Mavenir’s internal processes and deliverables are aligned
  • Ensures project scope is well managed and the business is aligned on what is being delivered and the applicable deadlines
  • Identification and implementation of any process improvements or changes required in the deliveries quality system
  • Supporting bids by providing input into the estimating process or reviewing bids
  • Regular reporting on account progress and status to Programme Director
  • Internal and external stakeholder reporting, up to to senior level (CxO) management
  • Accountable for an international team of multicultural Project Managers
  • Maintaining and completing Project Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for assigned customers

Essential:

  • Proven experience of successfully delivering Core Mobile Messaging and NFV Messaging and EPDG and 5G Core Network projects into a major MNO’s, including in-depth knowledge of their types of delivery processes and procedures
  • Extensive project management experience and proven track record of delivering complex deployment projects (1500 manhours and above) with average program budget over £3m
  • Previous experience leading or managing large offshore development teams and setting up delivery centres to develop and deploy new products
  • Ability to quickly build and maintain effective relationships at customer senior management level to enable excellent business results
  • Trained in a recognised project management methodology, PMP or PRINCE2 certification or equivalent
  • Strategic knowledge of mobile networks or of business critical systems in telecoms environment
  • Experience in telecom Core (Voice/Messaging) for 2G/3G/4G/5G/IMS
  • Highly experienced in partner and third-party management
  • Strong management and leadership skills, able to influence senior level customer discussions
  • Degree qualified in Science and/or Engineering disciplines
