What we offer

The Purchasing Data Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate core data management of the construction activities to support the business operations. The Purchasing Data Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the data is available for our internal departments to ensure a positive experience for our customer experience and construction operations.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for the maintenance and consistency of existing set-ups, master codes and descriptions for all homeowner and trade facing materials and act as the key gatekeeper ensuring consistency, accuracy and adherence to such.
  • Supports the Design Studio in the identification, pricing and sales set-up of new products, material and processes that will better suit the home market, while maintaining the Design Center Option Master database in JD Edwards (JDE) as required
  • Liaise with Architecture to ensure complete and accurate data is received and ready for input prior to sales launches.
  • Extracts & format budget reports from JDE for Vice President (VP) & Division President (DP) level approvals. Completes the digital entry of the approved direct cost budgets for projects into the JDE system within strict deadlines.
  • Support Finance Post Budget Review and other direct cost requests by validating direct costs and providing variance analysis vs the community launch proforma
  • Develop and maintain weekly and monthly reporting that highlights the department’s latest outlook vs pre-launch proformas and 5-year plan
  • Adheres to division-wide requirements for purchasing and production information required for entry into BuildPro and JDE, and act as the key gatekeeper ensuring consistency, accuracy and adherence to such, ensuring timely delivery of purchase orders from JDE to Build Pro
  • Provides administrative support to the Contracts Managers and Department VP and other duties as requested in support of overall data maintenance & support.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of both financial and operational processes within the procurement department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Degree or Certification in Information Management, Data Analytics or similar education.
  • 2+ years of progressive experience working with data management specialization
  • In-depth knowledge of data retrieval, data scrubs, and overall data-management.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude required.
  • Self-motivated, prioritizes tasks and works independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong analytical ability required to accurately compare and contrast multiple data sets and transform into useable feedback.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to prepare and analyze budgets and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Perform data integrity and quality audits regularly.

Bonus points

  • Experience working with JD Edwards platform.
  • Experience working with Power BI.
  • Knowledge of retail operations.
