Your Mission:
In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, preparing legal documents, managing and administering franchise legal documents for transactions in the U.S. and internationally, including new stores, territories, renewals, relocations, transfers and other changes of ownership. Also, tracks data and prepares reports for use by management. This position is responsible for creating and/or improving upon systems for efficient process and tracking.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Prepares franchise agreements, Territory Reservation Agreements (TRAs), renewal documents, transfer documents, relocations and changes of ownership.
- Research and analyzing various documents needed to ensure proper ownership for franchisees and needed for preparation of documents.
- Creates and/or recommends improvement upon systems for efficient process and tracking of franchise agreements, TRAs, renewals, changes of ownership and transfers.
- Tracks documents and deadlines of franchise documents, TRAs, franchise growth, and preparation of reports for use by top management.
- Confirms all necessary legal steps are completed by franchisee(s) before proceeding and approved them to move forward.
- Manage the franchisee database (FranConnect/AS400) including issuing new franchise accounts; buy/sell maintenance; and store closings, expiration date updates for new and buy/sell stores.
- Represents the Legal department at monthly franchise business training meetings. Conduct PowerPoint presentations to incoming franchisees.
- Other duties as assigned by Legal Director.
Who You Are:
- Associate Degree or legal certification in related area. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a legal environment or in-house legal department.
- Evidence of a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated written, oral, and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate technical legal data to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience in a position handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.
