Your Mission:

Sr. Business Intelligence Developer, Global Business Intelligence will support business stakeholders and partner with technology experts to support the development and deployment of LCE/IHI enterprise-wide business intelligence. The role is a critical part of the Business Intelligence Team and creates enterprise BI that enables executives, leaders, and operators to make data driven decisions. The company is clear and committed to the “what” – enabling data driven decisioning, as well as the “why” - to make a great company even better- and is looking to the Business Intelligence Team to help shape the “how”. This role will build on the existing foundation of Business Intelligence by increasing the focus on stakeholder engagement and the delivery of essential BI/KPIs and critical reporting. This role reports to the Manager, Global Business Intelligence who is a member of the leadership team of the Global Data and Analytics COE.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Develops highly actionable BI by engaging with business leaders, decision makers, systems and data owners, and end users to define goals and requirements for reports, dashboards, and analytics
  • Leverages an inquisitive mind-set to dig into the business goals and operations as well as available data sources to ensures KPIs and Reporting truly meet the business need
  • Designs, develops and delivers recurring and ad-hoc BI solutions to support the goals of the enterprise(s)
  • Partners with Data Engineering to ensure reports are built in an efficient, reliable, cost-effective way
  • Educates business users on how to effectively use the recurring reports and helps them build skills to create relevant custom reports
  • Works to continuously improved their capability in BI and analytics broadly, recognizing the value of both hard skills like those in areas like data, analytics, and technology as well as soft skills like decision making and stakeholder engagement
  • Mentors BI Developers across the companies in both the hard skills like data, tech and analytics, as well as the soft skills, like stakeholder engagement

Types of Assignments:

  • Responsible for the individual delivery of large system components. Lead the delivery of small sized projects (up to 12 FTE weeks) as well as for the delivery of complex components of larger projects as part of a team. As a senior member of the team, collaborate with other team leaders to ensure the success of the project.
  • Participate and set an example for other developers in creating BI deliverables using a formal software development methodology such as Agile. Participate in estimation and planning sessions and assist with project kick-offs.
  • Regularly pair with more junior developers while completing development assignments. Actively mentor engineers and analysts with less experience.
  • Support and provide guidance to Quality Assurance (QA) in the development of integration test plans, test conditions, expected test results, and automated testing.
  • Resolve system issues, proactively suggest improvements and responds to suggestions for improvements.
  • Provide support for production applications including on-call afterhours support on a rotational basis. Develop and maintain support documentation.
  • Mentor others and implement best practices on technical tasks which support the overall BI development team.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, data & analytics, technology, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience directly related to the development of data driven KPIs, Business Intelligence and Analytics in mid-sized or large company
  • Expert in designing Power BI (or similar enterprise scale) dashboards incorporating advanced functionality and highly technical UX/UI
  • Expert in building highly technical SQL queries to extract large data sets for EDA, ad-hoc reporting, and BI development
  • Expert in leveraging multiple technical skills (SQL, m/Power Query Language, and DAX) to create, manage, and deliver superb BI reporting and dashboards from creation to completion
  • Expert capability to engage leaders and understand their business challenges and help them address those challenges with BI and analytics
  • Ability to understand the strategic direction of a company and its data strategy and deliver tactically against in BI development
  • Strong ability in helping anticipate the future needs of the business in order to proactively prepare to meet business requests
  • Strong knowledge of the critical elements of BI and Analytics infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of processes and tools (including embedded features) for data security and privacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust, and the like.
