Does the idea of working in a collaborative and face-paced environment interest you? Reporting to the Senior Manager - Corporate Accounting, you will assist in planning and developing accounting policies and performing analytics to assess the impact related to LCBO financials. You will also research the latest International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) developments and communicate accounting changes, making recommendations to various business partners to algin to new accounting policies/processes. In addition, there will be opportunity to work on ad hoc projects and operational activities as directed to meet business partner requirements and other measurable analytics in determining reporting & internal control effectiveness.

About the Role
- Prepare reports, analysis and information required by various stakeholder including the LCBO business partners, internal auditors and the Provincial auditors for the year end audit.
- Support periodic financial statement reporting for the management team and analyze the impact of the results on the organization.
- Support and coordinate the implementation of accounting policies, primarily related to specific areas of IFRS.
- Identify and implement process enhancements that optimize efficiency and strengthen financial operations.
- Participate in weekly and period-end business activities including interfaces, journal entries reconciliations, variance analysis, financial highlights, solving team escalations, financial control assessments and other period end activities.
- Prepare and file HST/GST returns accurately on a timely basis.
- Provide tax advisory support to internal teams and assist in structuring transactions from an HST perspective.
- Work on various ad hoc projects and operational activities, including participating in system upgrades, testing, and enhancements involving Finance related systems.
About You
- Post-secondary education in financial or business field and/or equivalent working experience.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with and applying IFRS/IASs.
- External reporting experience in Retail field area, with the ability to draft external financial statement in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with SAP system and Power BI is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated success in leading system enhancements, automating workflows, and resolving complex accounting issues.
- Experience with system implementation, including test script development, testing tools, and documentation.
- Strong Financial modelling skills and knowledge working with financial reporting systems, in support of periodic commentary for management decision support.
- Ability to handle many tasks and competing priorities with proficiency to employ financial analysis, reporting techniques and always be best in class.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proven track record to effectively work in a team environment.
- Ability to quickly adapt to change and build and sustain business relationships.
- A fast-paced self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results under tight timelines.
