Team Lead – Application Operations
(12-month contract)

This role is Hybrid. #LI-Hybrid

Are you passionate about applications and driven by the desire to lead and support high-impact systems? We're looking for an experienced leader who will report to the Senior Manager, Application Operations and provide hands-on technical assistance and can guide a team through complex challenges while ensuring system stability and deliver exceptional service to our internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role

Leadership & People Development

  • Mentor and lead team members to be a high-performing team through ongoing coaching and development
  • Ensure team members meet Critical Success Factors, Service Level Objectives and Key Performance Indicators
  • Provide expert-level support and technical guidance to all partners both internal and externally
  • Serve as an escalation point for your team
  • Delegate work within the team and look for opportunities to transition work to other support teams

Application Operations

  • Ensure that business applications and systems supported by the Application Operations team are maintained to the highest possible standards of availability and performance
  • Hands-on implementation, configuration, maintenance of on-premises, cloud and hybrid software solutions
  • Mitigate the impact of service failures and drive the improvement of current application performance
  • Leverage dashboards and monitoring tools to track and report the performance and availability of applications
  • Assist in the triaging and investigation of incidents

Project Leadership & Collaborative Partnerships

  • Leverage your experience to lead the delivery of solutions utilizing automation principles and tools
  • Lead the work to elicit client requirements, develop project planning approaches, including assessment of current state processes and tools, and development of a future state and a long-term solution roadmap
  • Provide technical guidance and project leadership to project team members through all phases of the systems life cycle, from user requirements through implementation, to support and maintenance

About You

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent of related education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading small to medium size IT support teams
  • Experience with monitoring tools, log management tools, and automation build and deployment tools
  • Experience leading a support team in mixed technology environments (Windows, Linux, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with focus on troubleshooting and translation of system issues to business impact
  • Experience planning, configuring, deploying and managing application solutions across on-premises and hybrid cloud scenarios.
  • Quickly understand end-to-end business processes, clarify complex processes and develop technical solutions.
  • Proven collaboration and interpersonal skills; work well on cross-functional teams
