Secondment/Contract: up to 12 months
Do you love to drive continuous daily improvement in the timely importation and movement of product? Are you intrigued with financial results? Reporting to the Transportation Operations Manager, you will provide detailed analysis, reports and consultation to seek opportunities to increase operational efficiencies. You will provide technical expertise related to Canada Boarder Service Agency (CBSA) CARM and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). You will act as an advisor to management on business activities, analysis tools, methodologies, policies and procedures to support and enhance the LCBO’s position.

About the Role
- Supervise and coach a team of unionized staff to ensure an effective operational flow, supporting departmental and corporate objectives
- Conduct and provide detailed analysis on CBSA, and CRA for payment reporting and operational issues
- Uphold standards and service level agreements with external partners to enable the smooth transportation of product
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to foster and strengthen relationships
- Review operating reporting systems/processes and recommend alternative processes to improve efficiency and streamline operational practices
- Develop proposals and recommendations for the department as well as senior management
About You
- University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Custom Administration, Internation Trade or Supply Chain Management
- 3+ years experience in a logistics, customs and excise
- 3+ years supervisory experience and personnel management
- Completion or active enrollment in a Transportation/Logistics program, a Canadian Society of Customs Brokers program (such as a Certified Customs Specialist-CCS), or an equivalent accreditation or training
- Proven ability to motivate and lead a team with effective written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to be creative, innovative, independent, self-motivated, efficient, with sound decision-making
- Knowledge of CBSA tariffs, CARM and Customs regulations
- Strong knowledge of complex analysis methodology to provide in-depth analysis and provide recommendations
- Experience with Transportation/Warehouse Management Systems and shipment tracking programs related to the transportation field
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
