IT Project Manager

Are you passionate about using your expertise to lead full project management lifecycle, putting customer satisfaction at the forefront? Reporting to the PMO Lead, Project Management Office, you will work with our clients at all levels from department managers to LCBO senior leaders as a trusted advisor, delivering value across the organization. As an important member of the PMO, you would help craft our team culture, setting the standards for how we work, and ensuring alignment with our vision and goals

Salary range for this role is between $81,446 and $146,641

About the Role

  • You will manage the delivery of multiple simultaneous projects of varying degree of complexity, from initiation through closure, leveraging the disciplined PMI Project Management methodology.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on budget, within scope and timelines, and are meeting project objectives.
  • Lead large, cross-functional project teams, comprised of SMEs from IT, partnering Divisions, 3rd party resources and external service providers.
  • Manage project financials, conduct detailed resource capacity planning and forecasting, define and execute mitigation strategies for resource capacity issues.
  • Cultivate relationships in a matrix organization, and work with key partners to coordinate the gathering of the requirements and stakeholder involvement within the project governance.
  • Understand and determine critical metrics and success criteria with the impacted functional areas. Perform analysis of project benefit, cost, and risks, and monitor them throughout the project lifecycle, implementing corrective actions if required.
  • Monitor and report on projects’ progress, issues, and proposed resolutions. This includes preparing documentation to assist Senior Leadership decision-making.
  • Mentor and provide coaching to other project team members, coordinate project team meetings and monitor team performance.
  • Develop procurement documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Quotation RFQ), evaluate responses, and lead IT system and services selection activities.

About You

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience
  • 5+ years of experience implementing large complex technology projects, managing project teams with at least 10-15 team members including Architects, Developers, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Engineering and Testing Teams, and 3rd party service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing large enterprise platforms and/or infrastructure (ERP, CRM, distributed integrated solutions – Cloud, 3-rd party services etc).
  • Substantial technical background and understanding of multiple IT domains, such as Enterprise Systems Implementation, Software Development, Infrastructure and Networking, Cloud Computing, Server and Storage systems implementation, Cybersecurity, Telecommunication.
  • Objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues, define and implement mitigation measures.
  • Experience with planning and leading Change Management activities in a large organization.
  • Extensive experience driving mitigation / contingency discussions (planning and execution) and able to work with large teams to course-correct as the need arises.
  • Experience directly managing project financials including forecasting, managing adjustments to approved budgets, reporting on actuals and variances to forecast.
  • Set clear expectations, remove ambiguity, build partnerships with internal and external clients to ensuring sound vendor and contract management.
  • Solid grasp of key business and technology frameworks including Strategy, Governance, Business Analysis, Project Management, QA/QC, Dev Ops, Product development, SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) and/or CSM, ACP, SAFe or Risk Management certification.
  • 3+ years of experience using SharePoint and MS Office (including Word, Excel, Power Point and Project), with extensive experience with MS Project and Project Online.
