Co-op Duration: January 2025 – April 2025

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager Human Resources, Technology and People Analytics, the Human Capital Management (HCM) System Assistant Co-op Student will help support Workday, a cloud-based Human Capital Management software, and gain hands-on experience in multiple HCM modules. This includes troubleshooting and assisting with system functionality in areas such as Recruiting, Benefits, Time and Absence, Talent, and others. You will also work with our partners to improve existing business processes and promoting new Workday functionality.

About the Role

• Work with the team to ensure data integrity upheld through updating of employee and employment data.
• Support and conduct HCM testing, validation exercises and documentation.
• Assist with audits and support compliance with data protection regulations.
• Support the maintenance and documentation of configuration work notes.
• Conduct accurate and seamless data loads into the HCM using Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
• Assist, monitor and resolve assigned HCM cases from HR’s case management tool within the required Service Level Agreement Level.
• Provide team support in the ongoing maintenance of Human Capital Management plans.
• Support the build/maintain project plans & issues logs to help the team move forward on important projects.
• Create new reports based on client requirements.
• Review and validate reports for accuracy before distributing to clients.
• Build/modify and test basic discovery dashboards for clients.
• Work hands-on with HRIS team to ensure smooth operation of Workday’s HCM modules, involving monitoring system performance, data governance, and high-level support.
• Conduct research (e.g. Workday’s bi-annual release notes) to identify recommendations for product improvements.

About You

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary diploma in Human Resources or Information Technology.
• Experience in HR Administration with a Human Capital Management technology.
• Knowledge of HR functions and processes will be an asset to navigate Workday functionality.
• Strong organizational skills are needed to manage requests from case management tools/emails.
• Critical research and documentation skills
• Collaborative team player
