Under the general supervision of the District Manager, you will manage your store, sales, and employees to reflect your customers’ needs and business goals. We are looking for retail leaders capable of customer service excellence and committed to social responsibility.

The Role

  • The successful candidate will assume complete responsibility and accountability for the key store functions such as:

  • Customer Service

  • Sales & Marketing

  • Human Resources Management

  • Inventory Management & Budgets

  • Resource Protection & Facilities Management

  • Dynamic leadership in the implementation of corporate programs

About You

  • Progressive experience as a Retail Manager in key areas such as Customer Service, Human Resources, Business Management, Inventory Management and Sales & Marketing.

  • Strong leadership, team-building, interpersonal and communication skills

  • An understanding of and exposure to social responsibility issues, facilities management, resource protection, health & safety, WSIB, workplace accommodation, environmental issues and workplace diversity.

  • The successful candidate must possess a strong working knowledge of the internet/intranet and computer applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, web-based ordering and SPAR

  • Knowledge of job relevant policies and procedures in Administration, Store Operations, ISE and Resource Protection Manuals, as well as Store Circulars, is required

  • Internal applicants must have successfully completed the appropriate level of Product and Service Knowledge prior to applying.

  • All new ‘A’ and ‘B’ Managers will be required to successfully complete related management training upon promotion. This may include sessions in supervision, leadership, performance management, employee relations and retail business management.

  • If applying for more than one (1) position, you must indicate positions in order of preference.

  • Submit a covering letter (maximum 1 page) identifying your career goals. Submit a resume (up to 3 pages), including: All acting Store Manager experience, both LCBO and external. You must include the title, timeframe, duration, location, key responsibilities and accomplishments for each acting assignment. Any supplementary external or LCBO training roles and project management functions in which you have participated.

  • Applicants may be screened out prior to interviews due to unsatisfactory work performance, unsatisfactory attendance, or a disciplinary record within the past three (3) years.

  • Store Managers are not eligible to apply for a lateral transfer for a two (2) year period from the date of promotion. Current Managers applying for transfer may be considered ineligible if they have moved laterally a number of times in the past, unless there is a compelling business reason.

  • If you are applying for a position requiring relocation, it is strongly suggested that you discuss this possibility with your family or other individuals in advance of the posting closing date so that, if you are offered a position, you will be prepared to respond immediately.

  • Candidates may be eligible for relocation expense reimbursement in accordance with AM-0204-01 which states, “…the road distance must be at least 125 km between the prior and new place of employment.”

  • A circular will be issued announcing the successful candidate.
